Since the beginning of the pandemic, many social platforms have been very proactive in adapting their features to the new ways of life, the new urge for more and more authentic content, implementing this way changes and new functions. The aim has always been to improve user experiences and to make them as interactive as possible, but also more attractive for content creators, and more in general brands and businesses.
This time the new digital experience comes from the social network LinkedIn that launches Audio Events, a new functionality aiming at organising and participating in events related to the professional world.
Currently only in audio format, it will soon also be available as a video and live broadcasting option.

However, the format created by LinkedIn is not new to the users; in fact, it is very reminiscent of the Clubhouse format, also reused by other platforms.
LinkedIn has been working on this project for some time now. In fact, in the last 18 months, the social network has evolved considerably in several ways.
The platform created to connect professionals across the globe has seen a significant increase in the number of users and its team has grown by 150%.
This new focus on live events required LinkedIn to build an ad-hoc internal structure that would allow users to organise and attend live digital meetings, without leaving the platform. It was therefore necessary to investigate the most popular formats for carrying out professional gripping events, which would bring a great deal of participation.
As mentioned before, other social platforms have also implemented this new way of doing events, but it seems that LinkedIn has gained an edge.
Here is in summary how the new feature would work: speakers and attendees of a live event happening on the platform can instantly access the attendees' complete profile, instantly knowing more about their history and curriculum.
The presence of an integrated chat is also in the scope, even though not yet confirmed by the team.
It seems that by now the "phygital" approach has permanently made an entry also in the world of professionals, which sees more and more people collaborating remotely and in digital realities.
We just must wait for the news from LinkedIn to find out all the details.
